Heading Home…

This week I am heading back to Canada for a couple of days to do a showcase at The Stampede Ranch in my home town, Guelph. Let me tell you a little bit about this show…

Heading home is exciting! I get to see my family, which is the most important part to me, and I get to see my best friend…

Besides seeing my family and puppy, I get to play music. It doesn’t feel like much of a vacation when I work all weekend in Nashville, hop in my van, drive to Canada and work the entire time I’m home, then drive back to Nashville but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Music is my passion and I’m happy that I have such a strong support system that I am able to come home to.

The last time I did a showcase at the Stampede Ranch was only a couple days before I moved to Nashville. It was by far the most emotional and incredible experience I’ve ever had. My fans are honestly the best fans anyone could ever ask for. It was so overwhelming standing on stage in front of 300 fans while they were giving me a standing ovation for what felt like 15 minutes. I couldn’t help but cry my eyes out on stage and I am still grateful everyday that I was given the opportunity to connect with each and every one of them before I left. That night I promised everyone that I would be back to perform for them again. Time flies, because the show is coming up on September 11th. I can’t WAIT.

In all honesty, being a musician is the best job in the world. There are so many ups and downs, but the highs are always worth the lows. One of the best parts of this job is meeting people that I can truly call lifelong friends. I can’t wait to see everyone this weekend back home and let them all know what I’ve been up to.
